Gaetana was one of two greyhounds that we fostered at the same time, and actually it was our first time fostering for the greyhound group, Friend’s of Retired Greyhounds. We eventually foster failed with her after two weeks which was surprising because we loved the brindle greyhounds. Her racing name was JMJ’s Wendy, but we decided that the name Wendy didn’t fit her and she always pranced like a horse when she walked so we researched horse names and came up with Gaetana. She also had a different attitude which made her quite unique from the other greyhounds in the house, we often called her “Miss Snippy”. She was not even seven years old when she was diagnosed with lymphoma, a pretty quick, aggressive cancer in dogs. She went to the vet on May 24th for her symptoms and we said goodbye to her on May 26th because she had declined so rapidly, we could not bear to see her suffer. She is missed by Desiree, Mary and her four legged buddies, Calamity, Tempe, Roxy and Roo.
